Trek to Everest Base Camp alongside Amber and a group of fellow trekkers, following the legendary route through the heart of the Khumbu Valley. Along the way you'll pass through Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries and dramatic high altitude landscapes, all while walking beside our Lobuche East Peak Expedition team heading for the same horizon. At Base Camp the paths split: the Lobuche team pushes on into their climbing phase, while you begin the descent through the valley, having completed one of the world's great trekking adventures.

DAY 1-2 22nd - 23rd March 

Arrival

  • Welcome to Kathmandu!

  • Upon your arrival today, a member of our grounds team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you’ll be spending your first night.

  • This evening, we'll gather for a welcome briefing, where you'll have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and your guide, who will accompany you throughout your trek.

  • You'll then enjoy a welcome dinner at a local Nepalese restaurant, where you'll savour authentic Nepalese cuisine and be treated to a traditional cultural dance show.

DAY 2-3 23rd - 24th March 

Lukla > Phakding: 2,652m/8,700ft - 12.5km / 4 to 5 hours

  • Today, you will fly to Lukla Airport, famously known as the most dangerous airports in the world! You'll start your day early with a bus ride to either Kathmandu or Ramechhap.

  • Upon arrival, you'll meet the rest of the team, including additional porters and guides, and enjoy some tea and coffee together. From there, we'll pass through the National Luminary Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate, marking the beginning of our trekking route.

  • We'll stop for lunch and then continue on to Phakding, where we'll spend the night.

DAY 3-4 24th - 25th March 

Phakding > Namche Bazar: 3,440m /11,286ft - 7.5km/ 4 to 6 hours

  • Today, you will start the day with a breakfast around 8am before setting off on your trek to Namche Bazaar. This part of the trail includes some steeper sections and quite a few steps, so be prepared for a bit of a challenge.

  • Along the way, you'll cross the famous Hillary Bridge, an iconic part of the journey. The trek to Namche Bazaar should take around 4 to 6 hours, depending on your pace.

  • Once we arrive, we'll settle in and spend the night in Namche, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of this bustling Sherpa town.

DAY 4-5 25th - 26th March 

Namche Bazaar Rest Day

  • Today, you'll enjoy a well-deserved rest day in the vibrant town of Namche Bazaar, giving your body time to acclimatise to the higher altitude.

  • Take this well-earned acclimatisation day to let your body adjust and soak in the energy of this lively Himalayan hub. Wander through the trekking shops, treat yourself at one of the cosy bakeries, or settle into a coffee shop with sweeping mountain views.

DAY 5-6 26th - 27th March 

Namche Acclimatisation

 

  • This morning, you’ll embark on a short acclimatisation hike, which will not only help you adjust but also offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

  • Your destination is the Everest View Hotel, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks.

  • Afterward, you’ll return to Namche Bazaar, where the rest of the day is free for you to explore the town and recharge for the days ahead.

DAY 6-7 27th - 28th March 

Namche > Deboche: 3.820m/12,660ft - 12km / 6 hours

  • Today, you will trek to Deboche, passing through the picturesque village of Tengboche along the way. Tengboche is known for its historic monastery, the oldest in the Khumbu region, which you'll take some time to explore.

  • After visiting the monastery, you'll continue your journey, descending into Deboche, where you'll settle in for the night.

DAY 7-8 28th - 29th March 

Deboche > Dingboche: 4,410m /14,468ft - 10km/ 5 hours

  • After breakfast, you'll set off on today's trek from Deboche to Dingboche. Your route will lead you through the charming village of Pangboche, where you'll stop for a coffee break or lunch and take in the stunning views. As you continue your climb, you may start to feel the effects of the increasing altitude, which is perfectly normal and a sign that you're gaining elevation.

  • Once you arrive in Dingboche, you'll settle in and spend the next two nights here. This will provide you with the opportunity to acclimatise properly while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of this high-altitude village.

DAY 8-9 29th - 30th March 

Dingboche Acclimatisation

  • Today, you'll spend the day in Dingboche, enjoying a more relaxed morning to rest and recharge.

  • Later, you'll set off on a hike up to Nangkartshang Peak as part of your acclimatisation process. This ascent will take approximately two to three hours, reaching an altitude of around 5,100 metres, and will reward you with breathtaking views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding peaks.

  • In the afternoon, you're free to explore Dingboche at your own pace.

DAY 9-10 30th - 31st March 

Dingboche > Lobuche: 4,910m/16,105ft - 12km / 5-6 hours 

  • Today's trek will take you from Dingboche to Lobuche. The initial part of the journey will be relatively easy and flat, with some gentle undulations.

  • You'll pause for lunch or a coffee break along the way before tackling a steep ascent. At the top of this hill, you 'll visit the Everest Memorial Ground, a solemn site dedicated to those who lost their lives in their attempt to summit Everest. From there, you 'll continue your gradual ascent until you reach Lobuche, where you'll settle in for the night.

DAY 10-11 31st March - 1st April

Lobuche > Gorak Shep > Everest Base Camp:

4,210m/13,809ft - 12km / 7 hours

  • Today is the big day! You'll begin your trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, a journey that will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. Once you arrive and enjoy a hearty lunch, you'll set out for Everest Base Camp. The walk to Base Camp will take you along a ridge, where you'll proceed slowly and carefully, there's no rush.

  • Congratulations! You'll reach Everest Base Camp and take time to capture this remarkable achievement with some photos. It's a moment to truly celebrate and be proud of.

  • After soaking in the views and your accomplishment, you'll head back to Gorak Shep for the night. It's been a long day, and you may feel tired, hungry, or experience some altitude symptoms, but this is completely normal.

DAY 11-12 1st - 2nd April

Gorak Shep > Kalapatthar > Pheriche: 5,545m / 5-6 hours

  • Today, you'll start early, before sunrise, to trek to Kala Patthar for a spectacular view of the sunrise over Mt.Everest. The hike to 5,545 metres will take approximately 3 hours.

  • After soaking in the breathtaking views, you'll descend to Pheriche where you'll spend the night.

DAY 12-13  2nd - 3rd April

Pheriche > Namche Bazaar: 3,440m / 6 hours

  • You’ll start the day early and begin your descent back to Namche Bazaar.

  • Along the way, you’ll rest and enjoy a lunch break before continuing your trek, which will take approximately 6-7 hours.

  • Once you arrive in Namche, celebrate your journey with a refreshing beer at the world’s highest pub!

DAY 13-14 3rd - 4th April

Namche Bazaar > Lukla: 2,800m / 7 hours

  • Today marks your final day of trekking, a bittersweet moment as we wrap up our adventure. You’ll cover around 20km, navigating both uphill and downhill sections.

  • Upon reaching Lukla, take time to shop, relax, and celebrate the end of an incredible journey!

DAY 14-15 4th - 5th April

Lukla > Kathmandu: 1,338m/4,390ft

  • Today, you’ll rise early for our flight back to either Kathmandu or Ramechhap. If you land in Ramechhap, you’ll embark on a 4-hour bus ride back to your hotel. Once there, relax and enjoy a well-earned shower!

  • In the evening, you’ll celebrate our adventure with a farewell dinner, reflecting on the incredible journey.

DAY 15 5th April

  • It's your last day in Nepal!

  • Please don't hesitate to let us know if you'd like any assistance organising a transfer or with any onward travel arrangements.
