ITINERARY OVERVIEW

DAY 1  Kathmandu Arrival

Welcome to Kathmandu!

Upon your arrival today, a member of our ground team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you'll be spending your first night. Take this time to recover from your international flight, explore local shops, or visit some of Kathmandu's fascinating sites. We highly recommend spending two nights here to fully experience the UNESCO World Heritage sites the city has to offer. Please let us know if you would like to add an extra night pre-trek.

This evening, we'll gather for a briefing and welcome dinner, where you'll have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and your guide, who will accompany you throughout your trek.

Accommodation: Boutique Hotel · Dinner, Bed and Breakfast

After breakfast, you'll leave the hustle of Kathmandu behind and head west to Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region.

The road will follow the Trishuli River for much of the way, winding past terraced fields, small roadside villages and busy rafting spots. It will be a long drive, but there will be plenty of stops for tea and lunch along the way. Once you arrive in Pokhara, you'll check into your hotel and have the evening free. A sunset stroll along the shores of Phewa Lake will be the perfect way to stretch your legs.

Accommodation: Boutique Hotel · Bed and Breakfast

Today, your trek will begin! After breakfast, you'll take a short drive to Phedi, where you'll meet your porters and set off on foot.

The trail will climb a stone staircase up through the village of Dhampus before reaching Australian Camp, a grassy ridge with one of the best views in the region. On a clear day, you'll see Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre rising right in front of you. From here, you'll enjoy a gentle walk through forest and small farming hamlets to Pothana, where you'll spend your first night in a teahouse.

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

After breakfast, you'll walk to Pitam Deurali, where you'll leave the main trail and branch off onto the quieter Mardi Himal route.

The crowds will soon fall away as you climb steadily through beautiful forests of rhododendron, oak and maple. You might even spot langur monkeys swinging through the trees!

You'll arrive at Forest Camp, also known as Kokar, a peaceful clearing in the woods with just a handful of simple teahouses. It will be a cosy, back to basics night in the heart of the forest.

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

Today, you'll continue climbing through mossy forest draped in lichen. You'll stop for lunch at Low Camp, where Machhapuchhre, also known as Fishtail Mountain, will suddenly appear right in front of you. After lunch, the trees will thin out and you'll follow a narrow ridge past Badal Danda, meaning "cloud hill", which often sits above a sea of clouds.

If you're lucky, you might spot the Danphe, Nepal's colourful national bird, in the rhododendron bushes. By the afternoon, you'll reach High Camp, with incredible views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre. You'll want an early night ahead of tomorrow's big day!

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

Today will be the big day! You'll set off in the dark with your head torch and climb steadily along the ridge.

As the sun rises, you'll watch the first light hit Machhapuchhre, Mardi Himal, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. It will be a moment you'll never forget!

The trail will get steeper as you near the top, so you'll take it slowly and carefully. When you reach the Upper Viewpoint, congratulations! If conditions allow and the group is feeling strong, you may be able to continue on to Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500m/14,764ft.

After plenty of photos, you'll head back down to High Camp for a well earned breakfast and a relaxed afternoon soaking up the views.

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

After breakfast, you'll take in your final mountain views before heading back down the ridge to Low Camp. From here, you'll leave the main route and take a quieter trail down to Siding, a traditional farming village well away from the busy trekking routes. It will be a long, steep descent, so your trekking poles will come in handy!

Siding will give you a real taste of rural Nepali life, with terraced fields, livestock and warm local hospitality. You'll spend the night in a simple local teahouse.

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

Today will be your final day of trekking! You'll follow the river valley gently downhill, passing small villages, terraced fields and waterfalls on the way to Lumre. In Lumre, you'll say thank you to your porters before a drive back to Pokhara.

Once you've checked in, you can relax and enjoy a very well earned shower! The rest of the afternoon will be yours to explore the lakeside cafés and shops.

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal

Today is the big day!

We'll begin our trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep, a journey that will take approximately 3-4 hours. Once we arrive and enjoy a hearty lunch, we'll set out for Everest Base Camp. The walk to Base Camp will take us along a ridge, where we'll proceed slowly and carefully, there's no rush.

Congratulations! We'll reach Everest Base Camp and take time to capture this remarkable achievement with some photos. It's a moment to truly celebrate and be proud of. After soaking in the views and your accomplishment, we'll head back to Gorak Shep for the night. It's been a long day, and you might feel tired, hungry, or experience some altitude symptoms, but this is completely normal. Rest assured, you'll sleep well tonight!

Accommodation: Tea House · Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner + 1 hot drink at every meal
